Wrapping Up September

Hello, Lark Ellen Families!

Just a few reminders as we wrap up the month of September:

Join the PTA! Don't forget to join the PTA by sending in the $5 per person for membership.

Sweet Success Fundraiser has been extended until Friday, October 2nd.

Spirit Shirts - We will be selling t-shirts, sweat shirts and hoodies will continue to be sold throughout the year. Our next order placement is October 2nd.

Family Movie Night
Children who's parents or guardians are PTA members will receive one free bag of popcorn.
We are pre-selling pizza and soda deals. Be sure to turn in your green flyer with all the information filled out.

Library/Media Center

Be sure to visit the LMC building when you get the chance. Mrs. Whatley has recently installed a stained glass piece that took her almost a year to create based on the cover of the book Library Lion by Michelle Knudsen.

Hello!
I am very excited to have been voted in as Lark Ellen's PTA president for the upcoming year. This year will definitely be a challenge because of the numerous budget cuts, but I believe that the vision and purpose of the PTA will become even more evident this year. The PTA was founded during times of hardship specifically for the purpose of aiding in the enrichment of the lives of our children and acting as the nations largest advocacy organization. I believe that through the many resources available and through innovative ideas, Lark Ellen's PTA will be able to create an awesome and fun-filled year in spite of the hardships due largely because of a lack of funds.

I hope that together, the teachers and parents, can put their heads together to come up with the resources we need to make this an enriching year for our students.

Our Fall fundraiser this year will be Sweet Success Fundraising.
Kickoff will be Friday, September 11, 2009
Fundraising packets will go home with your child on that day. Please support the PTA by purchasing and selling items out of the fundraising catalog.

Spring

Our Spring fundraiser will be World's Finest Chocolates.
Kickoff dates still to be determined.
